CardonRehab Research Grant: Call for Proposals

Each year COMPTSIG awards $3000 to an individual or group of California Physical Therapists involved in Manual Therapy related research. The Grant is generously supported by CardonRehab.

Proposals should be submitted as an attachment to chair@comptsig.org by August 31st. Please review submission guidelines below.

ELIGIBILITY: The principal investigator must be a member in good standing with the CPTA .

PURPOSE: To fund research efforts that relate to the science and/or practice of orthopedic manual physical therapy (OMPT).

SUBMISSION: Each proposal must include the following:

1. Title page (title of project, name of investigator(s), contact information (address, phone, email) of principal investigator)

2. Abstract [1 page maximum]

3. Background & Significance (review of relevant literature describing significance of the study to the science and/or practice of OMPT, concluding with the study purpose)

4. Experimental Design (subjects, methods, data analysis) [10-page maximum for sections 3 and 4]

5. Statement of protection of rights of human subjects (sample consent form must be included and Institutional Review Board documentation if applicable)

6. Time Table for completion of project stages (each grant will be presented at the annual COMPTSIG business meeting associated with CPTA annual conference)

7. Detailed Budget 

8. CV for each investigator [3-page maximum, each]

9. References

10.Appendices (as needed to strengthen the proposal, i.e. pilot data, questionnaires, data collection forms, etc.)

11. The proposal should be saved as a pdf document and emailed to chair@comptsig.org

DEADLINE: August 31st.

RECIPIENT’S OBLIGATION: The recipient of this award will 1) acknowledge COMPTSIG support on all publications and presentations derived from this study, 2) provide a short progress report to the COMPTSIG Research Committee when requested, but not more frequently than once per year, 3) present the findings of this study at the COMPTSIG annual business meeting if requested, 4) present the findings at a CPTA and/or national meeting, and 5) submit the study for publication in a peer review journal.
